Project: A35
Story written by Justin Henderson aka VCrock!
A bedtime story from Crazy Fox Studios

Prologue
Zahkrin sat in the captain's seat at the center of the control room of his massive alien space battleship. He was surrounded by the whirring and clicking of thinking computers. His crew, manning each computer, however, was silent. Zahkrin liked the silence. It helped him concentrate. He was always thinking; coming up with new ideas and strategies to deal with any situation that confronted him. Which is what any GOOD general of a Zevox starfleet would do. But, that recent promotion from general really gave him alot more power, militarily speaking, and with great power comes great responsibility (*I'm sorry. I had to do that...*), or so he had been told. Zahkrin was a thinker more so than a fighter. However, should need be, he could definately put up a fight. One of the crew members working at one of the computers broke the silence, interrupting his thoughts. "Sir, the radar shows that we are approaching a planet not too far from our current location."

"The name of the planet?" Zahkrin asked, never looking at the crew member that had broken his concentration.

"Earth, my lord," the crew member answered.

"Excellent," Zahkrin said, then lowered his voice almost to inaudibility, "Project: A35 should have completely annihilated all life on that planet by now."

"Sir, e.t.a. to the planet Earth is approximately four days," the crew member said.

"Good, keep me posted," Zahkrin said as he stood up from his chair and went trough a door at the back of the room. He walked through several hallways before he reached a room labeled "Experiment Laboratory". Inside the room, there were long rows of tubes. All were empty but one that was separated from the rest. Zahkrin walked up to the tube. Inside, was the shadowy figure of a well built anthropomorphic fox/human with fiery red hair floating freely in the water filled tank. Small cables and wires were attached all over the figure's body, sending and receiving messages to a computer that was connected to the tube. The computer showed the statistics and vital signs of the figure inside.
Zahkrin stood, admiring the site of their hard work and dedication. "Soon, Project: A36. Soon you will be complete," Zahkrin said with an evil grin," And then you will be able to wreak havoc against our enemies, alongside your predecessor. We will Win the WAR!!" Inside the tube, one of the figure's fingers twitched.
"Soon," Zahkrin repeated.

He turned around and left the room. He returned to the main control room and sat down in his chair.

"Sir, we have a visual of the target planet," one of the aliens at the computers reported.

"Show me," Zahkrin ordered

"Yes, sir," the alien responded loyally and began typing quickly on the virtual keybord that lay before it.
A tiny spherical object appeared on a huge screen before Zahkrin. He winced at the picture.

"Zoom in," he ordered

"Yes, sir"

The alien typed a few more keys and almost immediately, the image on the screen zoomed in to show a clear picture of a beautiful, peaceful Earth. Zahkrin stared at the image with a confused expression on his face.

"What the...," he mumbled, confused, "That planet should have been glassed completely! Why is it so peaceful and serene? Why is it still distinguishable as a planet!? Did Project: A35 fail his mission? No! Impossible! But, the planet is still there!!"

Zahkrin thought for a moment. "Veth, give me a planetwide search for Project: A35!!" he ordered

"Yes, sir!" Veth, apparently one of the aliens at the computers, responded loyally and began clicking away at the keyboard again. "Found him!"

"Excellent," Zahkrin said, "show me."

"Yes, sir."
A second later, the picture of Earth quickly zoomed in on a live video feed of an anthro fox running through an alley.
Zahkrin stared at the screen with a hint of amusement about him.

"It's been four years. Let's see what you've been up to."
